    How many times have we passed Duck Deli on the way to our house and never stopped in?  Hundreds of times?  If not more?  So this weekend we decided to finally turn our car to the right and try out Duck Deli’s barbecue sandwiches.  When you first enter the deli you will notice the friendly and casual atmosphere.  You will also find yourself right in front of a case full of tantalizing ribs and whole barbecue chickens.   • Good Coffee in Corolla

    Surprisingly, in all the years we have lived in Corolla it has been difficult to find a really good cup of specialty coffee.  Just a simple cappuccino was impossible to acquire.  The Outer Banks Coffee Company was just down the street, however it always seemed to be closed every time we stopped by. That is, until now.  Outer Banks Coffee has a new owner who keeps the doors open when you need a shot of java the most.  For me you could define that as "all the time."  This coffee shop is now our regular Saturday afternoon stop in between beach trips.  It's just that good.   • OBX Restaurant Review: The Tomato Patch

    Want to know a great place to eat in the Corolla area?  You can’t go wrong at the Tomato Patch located in Monteray Shores Plaza off of Albacore Street.  Casual but nice, you can fit right in whether you have a table full of children or a table for two. We especially enjoy the calamari appetizer, which always arrives light and crispy.  The teenagers order a pizza which is big enough to both fill them up and fill a doggie bag for home.  My daughter orders the Fettuccine Alfredo, served in a large bowl with plenty of creamy cheese.
