Surprisingly, in all the years we have lived in Corolla it has been difficult to find a really good cup of specialty coffee.  Just a simple cappuccino was impossible to acquire.  The Outer Banks Coffee Company was just down the street, however it always seemed to be closed every time we stopped by. Want to know a great place to eat in the Corolla area?  You can’t go wrong at the Tomato Patch located in Monteray Shores Plaza off of Albacore Street.  Casual but nice, you can fit right in whether you have a table full of children or a table for two. We especially enjoy the calamari appetizer, which always arrives light and crispy.  The teenagers order a pizza which is big enough to both fill them up and fill a doggie bag for home.  My daughter orders the Fettuccine Alfredo, served in a large bowl with plenty of creamy cheese.
