Want to know a great place to eat in the Corolla area?  You can’t go wrong at the Tomato Patch located in Monteray Shores Plaza off of Albacore Street.  Casual but nice, you can fit right in whether you have a table full of children or a table for two.

We especially enjoy the calamari appetizer, which always arrives light and crispy.  The teenagers order a pizza which is big enough to both fill them up and fill a doggie bag for home.  My daughter orders the Fettuccine Alfredo, served in a large bowl with plenty of creamy cheese.

I usually enjoy the Seafood Penne, swimming in shrimp, clams, scallops, roasted tomato, basil, white wine and olive oil.  As with the other dinners, I generally eat less than half and bring the rest home for the next day’s lunch.

The beer menu has a variety of brands that will entice even the thirstiest vacationer.  And of course, they all go with pizza!

We arrive for dinner at about 5:30, before the crowds appear.  There has never been a problem getting a seat, despite the day we choose to dine.

We give two thumbs up to a local’s favorite, the Tomato Patch restaurant!

I didn’t realize you could make your own pizza! The last time I went I saw something that made me wonder… that is so good to know – can’t wait to go again and try it with the kids!
